Back from Hong Kong / Macau

The days of the holidays just flew by..... but it also added wonderful memories to my life...
Seeing my kids enjoy themselves in Disneyland also brings a smile to my lips. Though they are really noisy and annoying at times, they are still my most adorable kids hahaha.....

Shopping in Hong Kong's Tung Cheung station's Citygate is really amazing cos the stores there are all outlet store hee hee and Hong Kong has no GST... Fantastic... shop to your heart's desire....but this is more suitable for pple who are not inclined to bargain... Me and hubby bought plenty of Giordano's tops for self n kids and on top of which, we bought 2 Coach bags, usual price HKD 4800, we got it at HKD 1125..... smiling all the way back hee.....

there was so little time for us then to shop there, if i have a chance to go back there, I will surely go back there to shop. I noticed that the Acuvue contact lenses there is also cheaper compared to those in Singapore.

As for Macau, hotel hopping is quite fun as there are always fringe activities happening at the various hotels and their lobbies are amazingly huge with either huge statues or water fountain display etc. Really eye-opener.  A pity I do not have the time to explore the other parts of Macau. Next time, i'm gonna explore the skywalk, and clubs...
 next time.......

Parenting - Availablity to Kids

Being a parent ain't easy, as i have learnt from being a parent these 6 years to 2 kids. It seems to me that the time I have for myself has disappeared into thin air. Though in recent years, I have craved out time for my own activities but I will feel guilty when I think back about it. Gone were the days when I can use the time I have on my own freely without feeling guilty.

E.g if I want to go shopping with friends, I have to make plans for either my hubby or my parents to take care of the kids vs in the past where i can check my calendar and simply just poof off to shop. If not that, I will have to take leave to go shopping, how pathetic you might say. But this is really 1 of the way to work around it.

Therefore when hubby sent me an email recently that writes about the 6 A’s of good parenting. Reading it really gives me an insight of what I have or have not done right.

1. Availability
When we are available to our children it gives them a sense of importance. We can say all we want about how important our children are to us. But if we’re not available to them, our words will ring hollow.Sometimes, our automatic response to our kids when they approach us is, “Not right now, I’m busy.”  But our children should come before our TV-watching, our hobbies and our work. So when our kids come to us, our response should be to stop, drop and listen. Stop what we’re doing, drop to our knees, and listen to them, hug them, play with them.

Therefore this point of being available to our kids ring a huge bell for me. Many a times, while we are home my kids might want to hold a conversation with me or show me stuff and I will tell them to hold on to their thoughts or tell them to wait while I finish the task on hand. So this is kinda like a wake up call to me to drop the things i am doing at that moment (excluding bathing) and give all my attention to my kids when they request for it.

Other A's coming up......

Life is vunerable whoever, whatever you are......

20,000 leatherback turtles were massacred at one of Trinidad's beaches.... A hotel which is popular with turtle watchers was in danger of flood attack from a nearby river and bulldozers were deployed to carry out peventive works. But the bulldozers dug up a huge chuck of the beach that was un-necessary for the preventive works. With it, they killed about 20,000 eggs and hatchlings......

That just goes to see how effective all those talk about eco friendly, conservation plans are..Somewhere along the line of instructions, something must have gone wrong and caused this to happen. On the hindsight, should that place be marked as a convservation area, the company in charge of the works will think twice before any action..... This is really a rotten way to start the week....

Should you have anything to say or feel the same way as I do that something can be done to prevent this, do sign on this petition.

Mat 1 Completed.....

last weekend was terrific. Had mat course from 4hrs on both Friday and Saturday and 8 hrs straight on Sunday...... Learnt the various mat exercises for Beginner and Intermediate level. Was pretty cool. Then gave my 'frst trial' class. Gosh was so nervous. Blanked out for a minute in front of the class and m really grateful for the coursemates I have who helped gave me clues for the following steps haha.... standing in front of the class is so different when u are lying on the mat waiting for instructions from the teacher. But I am sure I will get better and be able to do a good class. :)

Afterall if I can say so myself I felt that the 2nd round of 'teaching' was much better for the first half when we get to re-teach the exercises that we taught in the morning. So practise makes perfect. Now I can compete with Gabriel. He to practise for his piano pieces and me to deliver my class beautifully.

Next weekend will be Mat 2. This time round I will get myself prepared by looking at the various exercise try them out myself and practise delivering the class so that i will be more familiar with the exercise and not be so nervous and lost standing in front of the class.

Another step closer to my goal ........ to be a certified Pilates Instructor.........

Countdown

5 days from now, i will be at Pilates Inc embarking on my first lesson for MatWork 1.
Mummy has recently introduced me to this new exercise known as 仮佬玩童 exercise. Apparently this exercise helps your body system to purge toxins and aids in the rejevenation of cells etc. Thing is this exercise is to best practised at 5.30am where one's body system is at the best for detoxification and regenerating works.

Perhaps this weekend I shall pull myself out of my cosy bed and kick start the weekend with this supposedly excellent exercise......

The start of a new journey.....

So excited. Next weekend I will be embarking on a new journey towards being a Pilates instructor. I will be taking my Mat 1 & 2 course with The Moving Academy. They are teaching the Balanced Body School of Pilates which is slower and it focuses more on building your core muscles but it still can make you sweat.

Till then I have to go hit the books and start locating my muscles least I get lost in class.....
